Pliant Expands Refinancing Capacity to 200 Million Euro, Offering Credit Lines in 11 Currencies
Pliant becomes the first digital card provider offering credit lines in all 30 countries across the European Economic Area (EEA) in 11 different currencies, including USD, GBP, and CHF.
A new partnership with the Vereinigte Volksbank Raiffeisenbank eG (VVRB) strengthens Pliant’s financial position, increasing its total capacity for providing credit lines to a total of 200 million Euro¹.
Pliant announces a new strategic partnership with VVRB. This collaboration enables Pliant to offer credit lines in all EEA currencies, as well as in US dollars, British pounds, and Swiss francs, across all 30 countries within the European Economic Area (EEA).
Pliant’s expanded multi-currency capabilities include CHF (Swiss Franc), CZK (Czech Koruna), DKK (Danish Krone), GBP (British Pound), HUF (Hungarian Forint), NOK (Norwegian Krone), PLN (Polish Zloty), RON (Romanian Leu), SEK (Swedish Krona), and USD (US Dollar), in addition to the euro. Additionally, Bulgarian lev (BGN) and Icelandic króna (ISK) can be provided upon request. This allows Pliant customers to bill in the same currency in which their transactions are settled – a valuable advantage for companies working with significant volumes in non-euro currencies.
Malte Rau, CEO of Pliant, says: “Teaming up with VVRB is a big step forward for us as we branch out into new markets. By broadening our refinancing options with external partners, we can now offer multi-currency credit lines, making us the first digital card provider with this capability. This truly highlights our commitment to delivering flexible and comprehensive financial solutions internationally.”
Ralf Magerkurth, CEO of VVRB, says: “The partnership with Pliant is the perfect symbiosis of our established lending business and our capabilities as a broadly positioned universal bank. Our corporate customers have always had the opportunity to access foreign currency loans; we can therefore also offer this to our cooperation partners. Pliant has already had great success with their Euro card business, and now we would like to stimulate further growth with our Euro and foreign currency funding solution.”
Last year, Pliant successfully passported its Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license to all countries across the European Economic Area (EEA). This achievement allows Pliant to offer credit lines and additional financial products tailored to the specific regional needs of customers throughout Europe. With this milestone, Pliant positions itself as a fully regulated, independent payment institution capable of meeting the diverse needs of various industries.
